Travel risk management

Duty of care, delivered.

Storms, disasters, protests and terror events can disrupt operations and put people at risk, often with little warning. Most organisations don’t have a large internal security team, and building one means separate systems for monitoring, communication and response, plus another provider for help on the ground.

SPS brings all of this together in one service. Concentric’s Travel Risk Management (TRM) platform keeps your travellers informed and visible, and our 24/7 Global Response Centre monitors, alerts and responds as an extension of your own team. The service is aligned to ISO 31030, the international standard for travel risk management, so you can meet your duty of care without the cost of building it yourself.

How it works

Protection across the whole journey.

From the moment a trip is booked to the follow-up after an incident, the platform and the GRC work as one service.

  1. Pre-travel

Country and city risk ratings, destination reports and pre-travel briefings prepare people before they leave. Flight, hotel, rail and hire car bookings are captured automatically from your travel management company.

  2. On the move

The app sends alerts based on each traveller’s location, while your dashboard shows where people are against events monitored 24/7 by AI and analysts.

  3. In an emergency

One tap on the emergency button reaches the GRC. A case is opened, advice is given remotely, and medical, security or evacuation support is coordinated on the ground when needed.

  4. After an incident

Every action is recorded in our case management system, giving HR, risk and insurance teams a full audit trail. Welfare and post-incident support is available for those affected.

The traveller app

Safety information and help, one tap away.

Travellers download the app before they go. It keeps them informed wherever they are and connects them straight to the GRC.

Stay informed

Alerts for the traveller’s location, global alerts and local news, plus country guides covering safety, medical, travel and culture, travel bookings and gate changes, a currency converter and 12 travel safety e-learning modules.

Get help fast

An emergency button connected to the GRC, local emergency numbers that update with the traveller’s position, a healthcare advice line and location sharing with colleagues.

A privacy setting lets travellers share their country rather than their exact position. They still appear on your dashboard, at country level.

The client dashboard

Every traveller and site, on one screen.

Live visibility

A single view of travellers, offices and sites, with a live incident feed, country and city risk ratings and high-risk traveller flags.

Bookings and itineraries

Integrated with global distribution systems and all major travel management companies, so flights, hotels, rail and hire cars are captured automatically.

Mass communication and crisis management

Message staff and sites by email, SMS, phone and in-app notification. A virtual crisis room lets you coordinate your crisis management team, with audit logs and document storage.

Intelligence

Alerts your people can act on.

Critical events are monitored worldwide by AI and a team of 24/7 analysts. The GRC then adds ground truth and local intelligence from open and closed sources, so alerts are accurate and relevant to where your people are.

24/7 Global Response Centre

When something goes wrong, a real team answers.

The GRC runs the platform around the clock. SPS is approved by Lloyd’s of London as a security and medical evacuation provider, and every action is recorded in our own case management system.

  1. Contact

The traveller presses the emergency button in the app or calls the GRC directly.

  2. Case opened

The GRC takes their details, opens a case and gives immediate remote advice.

  3. Response

Our in-house medical team handles medical cases. If security support is needed on the ground, it is deployed once the client approves.

  4. Resolution

The case is managed through to resolution, with the client kept updated throughout.

Our in-house medical capability covers a healthcare advice line, travel consultation, medical incident response and insurance activation.

As conflict escalated, SPS organised a chartered aircraft evacuation from Tel Aviv to Dubai for a corporate client, managing medical screening, passenger manifests and ground logistics.

Sudan, humanitarian NGO

During nationwide violence and fuel shortages, SPS coordinated secure road convoys and a Red Sea maritime evacuation to bring NGO personnel to safety.

Recent responses also include

Corporate evacuation during airspace disruption in Dubai, rapid relocation of energy sector personnel in the Gulf, cross-border medical evacuation for humanitarian staff, a missing child search in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and hurricane medical support in the Caribbean.

FAQs

Questions we’re often asked.

What is travel risk management?

Travel risk management is how an organisation protects people who travel for work: preparing them before they go, tracking risks while they are away and responding quickly if something goes wrong. SPS delivers all three through Concentric’s TRM platform and our 24/7 Global Response Centre.

Is the service aligned to ISO 31030?

Yes. Our travel risk management service is aligned to ISO 31030, the international standard for travel risk management, alongside ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ISO 45001.

What happens when a traveller presses the emergency button?

The alert goes straight to the GRC. The team takes the traveller’s details, opens a case and gives immediate advice. Our in-house medical team handles medical cases, and if security support is needed on the ground we deploy it once you approve. Every action is logged.

Can travellers keep their exact location private?

Yes. Travellers can switch on a privacy setting so they appear on the dashboard at country level rather than at their exact position. They can still raise an alarm and reach the GRC at any time.

Does the platform work with our travel management company?

Yes. It integrates with global distribution systems and all major travel management companies, so flight, hotel, rail and hire car bookings are captured automatically, without travellers entering anything.

Is evacuation included?

Every programme includes 24/7 GRC access, point of incident support and medical, security and intelligence advice. Secured adds transport to the nearest appropriate care or safe location and repatriation home by commercial air, with costs included. Assured also adds repatriation by air ambulance or charter flight.

Which countries do you cover?

We support clients in more than 180 countries, through the GRC and a vetted network of more than 65,000 audited local medical and security partners.

Can insurers and brokers offer this to their clients?

Yes. SPS already provides the operational response behind Accident & Health policies and works within broker, MGA and carrier response frameworks. Speak to Juan or George to discuss a partnership. Find out more about our insurance services
